SBI PO exam preparation strategy by Satyam Singh, SBI PO 2019 exam topper, Mistake to avoid, Books
- Interviewer: Tell us something about yourself?
Satyam: l cleared SBI PO in my first attempt in 2019. I started my preparation in January 2109. I completed my graduation from Khalsa College, Delhi University.
- Interviewer: How did you prepare for SBI PO exam?
Satyam: In prelims exam usually speed is checked, we have three sections.
- Math
- English
- Reasoning
For mains (concept is asked), I would say that don’t wait for prelims to get over and then study for mains.
Maths: learn tricks from youtube and follow quantum cat book by Arun Sharma.
Reasoning: For me reasoning was a fun activity, I used to solve 5 to 20 puzzles daily.
Give short quizzes on a regular basis.
English: Don’t take English as a subject, take it as a language.
If you want to improve your English you should have a reading practice.
Current affairs: I followed Gaurav Garg sir for the series of daily current affairs,
I used to make notes from the daily current affair video by Gaurav Garg sir.I used to do the daily revision of the daily current affairs.
General awareness is a deciding factor for both mains and interview
Mocks: I would like to recommend mock test series By Oliveboard for prelims, mains and descriptive paper.
Be very attentive while giving mocks and give them seriously.
Give mock and do the analysis of them.
- Interviewer: Tell us something about the descriptive paper?
Satyam: For descriptive time given is of 30 minute and 150 word limit.
overall it is easy. Format is very important for descriptive paper.
Prepare 7 to 8 current topics and keep revising them again and again.
- Interviewer: How much did online platforms helped you in your preparation?
Satyam: Aspirants can get benefit from online platforms very much as almost all the content is free.
- Interviewer: Would you like to give any special tips to the fellow aspirants?
Satyam :
- Analyse previous paper thoroughly.
- Make your own strategy.
- Know your exam properly.
- Do hard work
- Mocks are very important
- You should know Art of skipping questions.
- Leave negativity
- The constituency is the key to success
- Give mock daily
- Believe in yourself
Interviewer: Throw some light on the Interview Process?
Satyam: A candidate who clears both the Prelims & Mains Exam of SBI PO 2019 will be further called for a GD-PI session wherein they will face a panel of selectors discussing their past experience and questions related to General Knowledge and of the Banking Sector.
The marks allocated to these rounds are: Group Discussion – 20 marks, Interview – 30 marks
- You should be knowing everything about yourself
- Basic knowledge of banking is must required
- You should have deep knowledge about your hobbies
- Be expressive.
- Be confident.
- Through this round, a candidate’s communication skills and personality are examined.
