World Bank, AIIB approve a loan for USD 300 million projects to Punjab
The World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have approved loans for USD 300 million (about Rs 2,190 crore) canal-based drinking water projects in Punjab.
The project is aimed at ensuring quality drinking water and minimizing water losses for Amritsar and Ludhiana, according to a Punjab government statement.

The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Prof. K VijayRaghavan virtually launched the “MANAS” App.
The objective is to promote wellbeing across age groups.
MANAS which stands for Mental Health and Normalcy Augmentation System was endorsed as a national program by the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC).

India’s first mobile app for learning Sanskrit LITTLE GURU launched
The Indian government has launched the first-ever app that enables the user to learn Sanskrit, the ancient language of the country. The app created by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has been named ‘Little Guru.
The app was launched during the celebrations of the 71st Foundation Day of ICCR.
- The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is an autonomous organization of the Government of India, involved in India’s external cultural relations (cultural diplomacy), through cultural exchange with other countries and their peoples.
- It was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent of India’s first Education Minister.
Railways complete the Arch closure of the iconic Chenab Bridge, the World’s Highest Railway Bridge.
The Indian Railways recently completed the Arch closure of the iconic Chenab Bridge.
Chenab Bridge is the world’s highest railway bridge and a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project (USBRL).
This achievement is a major leap towards the completion of the 111 k.m. long winding stretch from Katra to Banihal. This bridge is 1315m long.
The 6th Edition of the prestigious Raisina Dialogue was jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation.
It was held virtually from 13-16 April 2021.
The theme for the 2021 Edition is “#ViralWorld: Outbreaks, Outliers, and Out of Control”.
