Arjun Kalyan becomes 68th Indian Grandmaster

Tamil Nadu’s, Arjun Kalyan became India’s 68th Chess Grandmaster when he crossed the 2500 ELO mark after beating Dragan Kosic in the fifth round of GM Round Robin “Rujna Zore-3” in Serbia.
Arjun is coached by IM Saravanan and Ukrainian GM Aleksandr Goloshchapov and began playing chess at the age of nine and got his FIDE rating a year later.

2023 Men’s Boxing World Championships to be held in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent

The 2023 men’s boxing World Championships will be held in Uzbekistan capital Tashkent. International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Umar Kremlev confirmed Tashkent as the host city during a visit to Uzbekistan.
The city of Tashkent is awarded the 2023 AIBA Men’s boxing World Boxing Championships after the successful bid presentation by the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan.

Hubert Hurkacz beats Jannik Sinner to win Masters final in Miami

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz was vaulted into the top 20 for the first time in his career after clinching his maiden Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open; a win he said provided added “motivation” to succeed.
The 24-year-old downed Jannik Sinner 7-6(4), 6-4 in the men’s final as a handful of double-faults in the match proved costly for his 19-year-old Italian opponent.
