  • Interviewer: Tell us something about yourself?

Aastha: I am  Aastha Sheoran, I have completed my graduation in computer science.

  • Interviewer:  Why did you choose the banking sector and not any other government sector?

Aastha: One can easily get a job in 4- 6 months by clearing a banking exam and there is stability also. You also get a foreign exposure.
Government sector provides us a good salary package and job security. Government sector job was my dream, that’s why I decided to prepare for it. I am fond of interacting with people. Banking provides me that platform.

  • Interviewer: What was your strategy for the Prelims exam?

Aastha:  I would tell aspirants to complete your basics in 1 month.
Give lots of mocks and always see the percentile in mocks. Aim beyond 95 percentile in mocks.

Speed is required in pre exam.

Don’t be around the cutoff. Always try to score 15/20 marks above the cutoff.

English-  Practice Reading Comprehension and follow any Newspapers like The Hindu on a daily basis. For grammar, you can follow any good book.

Math – Concept and calculation is important for maths. Practice a lot. Solve as many questions as possible. At first clear your basic concepts and after that go for higher level questions. I went for mock tests and analyzed the questions. I tried to improve my speed through all this.

Practise data interpretation a lot.

Reasoning – Give short quizzes on a regular basis. Don’t be afraid of puzzles in reasoning. One puzzle can fetch you 5 marks straight. Keep 5-6 minutes for rest of things in reasoning.

Puzzle: Start from easy level like pre level puzzle, buy adda book for puzzle.

When you are done with 500 puzzles for pre, you will not be afraid of it.

Solve one puzzle in many ways. Practise more for puzzles. Then start with the mains puzzle.

General awareness-General awareness is a deciding factor for both mains and interview. Gk should be strong. Follow current affairs from 5 to 6 months before the exam.

I followed Gaurav Garg sir for the series of daily current affairs and 200 series(watch it 6 to 7 times). I used to make notes from the daily current affair video by Gaurav Garg sir.I used to do the daily revision of the daily current affairs.

Mocks –For math give mocks twice a day. Mocks are very important.

Go with 1-2 mocks daily, and do not forget to analyze them. Give short quizzes on a regular basis.

  • Interviewer: What was your strategy for the Mains exam?

Aastha: Study only for mains from the starting.

Gk and banking awareness is included in the mains paper.

Revise every topic 3-4  times from every subject

  • Interviewer: Tell us something about the descriptive paper?

Aastha: For descriptive time given is of 30 minute and 150 word limit. Format is very important for descriptive paper.15 marks allocated to letter and 15 marks to letter. Prepare 7 to 8 current topics and keep revising them again and again.

  • Interviewer: What was your strategy for the Interview exam?

Aastha: Be true.Biodata form should be truthfully filled. Ravi Soni sir helped me a lot in interview

  • Interviewer: What is your take on social media

Aastha: There should be a limit to everything.

  • Interviewer: What message would you like to give to fellow aspirants?

Aastha: Leave negativity. The constituency is the key to success. Believe in yourself.

Work on your weakness. Don’t be demotivated.

I want to thank Gaurav Garg sir for the series of daily current affairs on Studyiq Youtube channel.

Remain focused towards your goal and do not get distracted with other exams.

Lastly, I want to thank the Study IQ team for giving me a platform to express my views and thoughts.
